De fait, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 qu&rsquo;une grande partie de la cavalerie devient motoris\u00e9e en 1940, l&rsquo;ancienne version pr\u00e9vue pour \u00eatre fix\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de son gros mousqueton aux anneaux de troussequin de la selle, devient peu utile pour les troupes de cavalerie motoris\u00e9e, qui ne sont \u00e9quip\u00e9es uniquement de ceinturon avec \u0153illets. <br>Afin de palier \u00e0 ce probl\u00e8me, l&rsquo;Office du Quartermaster Corps, lance un nouveau mod\u00e8le de housse, pouvant \u00eatre attach\u00e9 \u00e0 une selle, \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;un sanglon (Strap, Suspension,Cover,Canteen, Mounted, M-1941), et aussi pour \u00eatre port\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;un crochet M-1910 sur un ceinturon. <br>Ce nouveau mod\u00e8le portera le d\u00e9signation de Cover Canteen Mounted M-1941, sous le num\u00e9ro de stock 74-C-304.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"788\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/eto44.ovh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/COVER_CANTEEN_MOUNTED_M1941_2-788x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eto44.ovh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/COVER_CANTEEN_MOUNTED_M1941_2-788x1024.jpg 788w, https:\/\/eto44.ovh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/COVER_CANTEEN_MOUNTED_M1941_2-231x300.jpg 231w, https:\/\/eto44.ovh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/COVER_CANTEEN_MOUNTED_M1941_2-768x997.jpg 768w, https:\/\/eto44.ovh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/COVER_CANTEEN_MOUNTED_M1941_2.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 788px) 100vw, 788px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Cette housse se distingue par une patte porte crochet M-1910 beaucoup plus longue que le mod\u00e8le pour les troupes \u00e0 pied. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deux sangles en webbing, sont cousues horizontalement directement sur la toile de la housse, ainsi que sur la patte du crochet, afin de cr\u00e9er deux logements, destin\u00e9s au passage des sangles de la sacoche de selle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un autre point que le Quartermaster souhaitait aussi r\u00e9soudre, \u00e9tait le nombre de bidon accord\u00e9 au cavalier.
