Le 13 mai 1961, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 transf\u00e9r\u00e9e \u00e0 Blida, o\u00f9 elle est rest\u00e9e jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 son retour en m\u00e9tropole. Leur r\u00f4le est de supporter la charge et de ralentir sa descente, garantissant ainsi un atterrissage en toute s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Les VUM proviennent soit du d\u00e9classement de voilures \u00e0 personnel, fran\u00e7aises ou am\u00e9ricaines, soit d&rsquo;une fabrication directe, sous l&rsquo;appellation AMR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L&rsquo;id\u00e9e de transformer des parachutes \u00e0 personnel en parachutes de charge est n\u00e9e de trois capitaines qui ont eu l&rsquo;ing\u00e9niosit\u00e9 d&rsquo;utiliser des voiles d\u00e9class\u00e9es (parachutes dorsaux et ventraux).
